For effective performance of an engineering student in the corporate world, it is essential that he/she should not only excel the technical domain but also focus on a range of abilities which include work ethics, teamwork, self-discipline, self-confidence, communication skills, leadership skills, time management and many more.

Students’ Organization For Technical Activities (SOFTA), established in 1994, offers the best possible opportunity for students in Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli to practice and enhance their technical as well as soft skills. Since its establishment, SOFTA is gaining overwhelming response from the students. With a blend of B. E. and T. E. students as its board members, SOFTA undertakes various activities throughout the year to ensure proper progress of its members.

The weekly Club Services, conducted under the guidance of senior members, are helping the students to acquire and nurture several new skills. The success of SOFTA is evidently depicted in the campus recruitment process wherein Softaites get placed in some prominent companies.

Graduation Day Ceremony in the college is being successfully organized by SOFTA since last 3 years. This is one of the best examples which illustrates SOFTA’s strength and its teamwork. The more delighting fact is that Softaites have bagged Best Student Award in the college for 3 consecutive years since 2011. In addition to this, every year, SOFTA is also involved in the F. E. Admission Process.

Every year, SOFTA organizes IMPULSE – A University Level Management Event for the students to examine their skills. It covers each and every aspect involved in the recruitment process of a company. To inculcate team spirit and leadership qualities, SOFTA undertakes an Intraclub Team Event for its members. Caliber – A Mock Campus Event helps us to assess abilities of our members.
